LTIMindtree has announced that Debashis Chatterjee, its CEO and Managing Director, has retired due to personal reasons. The company’s Board of Directors confirmed the leadership transition at its 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 30, 2025. Venu Lambu, the current CEO-designate, has officially taken over as CEO & MD effective May 31, 20252.
Chatterjee’s Legacy at LTIMindtree
Chatterjee, popularly known as DC, played a pivotal role in the company transformation. He led Mindtree as CEO from 2019 until its merger with L&T Infotech in 2022, after which he took charge of the newly formed the company. Under his leadership, the company became India’s sixth-largest IT services firm by revenue, successfully integrating Mindtree’s experience DNA with LTI’s engineering DNA to create a stronger market presence4.
During his tenure, LTIMindtree:
Expanded its BFSI and technology businesses, each crossing the $1 billion revenue mark.
Won its largest-ever deal, worth $450 million, from Archer Daniels Midland (ADM).
Bagged a $200 million contract, combining renewal and new scope.
Set an ambitious revenue target of $10 billion by FY 2031-32.
LTIMindtree: Leadership Transition & Future Outlook
Chatterjee has been working closely with Venu Lambu to ensure a smooth transition. Lambu, who previously led global markets at the company, also served as CEO of Randstad Digital, a $3 billion digital arm of Randstad. His expertise in digital transformation and global capability centers is expected to drive the company next phase of growth4.

The company remains focused on vendor consolidation deals and strategic pivots to achieve its near-term $5 billion revenue goal.
